About Osaka

Located at 2904 Colorado Ave, Joliet, IL 60431, Osaka operates as a chinese restaurant serving Joliet in Illinois. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Google also lists it under asian restaurant, buffet restaurant, japanese restaurant, which is worth knowing if you are comparing several options in the area.

In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Joliet; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in Illinois are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

Hours are published for 6 days a week. On most of those days it is open 10:30 am–8:30 pm. It is closed on Tuesday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (815) 439-9888. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone.

Will not come here anymore. The waitstaff was rude. Had a attitude. Took my half full drink. Reached over my plate of food while eating to grab a empty plate. The price is getting to high for what they offer . They put gratuity on the check and then expect a cash tip also.

My family and I come here often. Ever since our first time, the waitress knows our drink order even before we walk through the door. The food is always good and fresh. I can't think of any complaints. Tip: save a little money by arriving before 3pm and paying the lunch price.

Great crunchy well-seasoned crabs, well-cooked seafood, crisp veggies, good kimchi, tasty jello flavors, wide selection desserts, good ambience, well-lit. Buffet is worth the cost when you come with a healthy appetite. I’d only suggest that they should offer crab crackers for anyone who requests them, so that part of the crabs that are too tough —we can still open and eat the meat inside. Otherwise —this is a good buffet option.

Had dinner at BC Osaka on 5/28/25. My review is on the standard of a Chinese buffet in the region. Total cost was $20.07, which includes a $0.50 charge for using my debit card. I felt I got my money’s worth for $20.07. The $20.07 includes the cost of whatever drink or drinks you want. My “go to” drink is hot tea. If you want other drinks there is no additional charge. In addition to the multiple rows of buffets of Chinese food, there’s also to hibachi grill where a cook will flattop grill cook a plate of raw ingredients that you put on the plate from the buffet of options. My hibachi grill selection today included steak, shrimp, chicken, broccoli, shallots (I think), onions, and Broccoli. The main down side to me was the condition of the bathroom. The bathroom itself wasn’t all that bad, but was riddled with political carvings and marker from 2024. A 10 minutes paint touch up job would have gotten rid of these markings (which was about 6 months or more ago). Back to the food… overall, the food was good quality on par for a Chinese buffet. The buffet included all the main items you’d expect from a Chinese buffet and the cook quality seemed great.

This is our first and last time trying this place. The hostess was rude. The server was fine. The food was not fresh. The meat was old. The crabs was mushy and stinky. Shrimp was dry. Salmon was not tender and had no taste. The grill food was fresh but they over cooked the meat so it was chewy and had no taste. We didn’t eat sushi since we didn’t trust the quality of food there. We stick with the cooked food. We were there on Sunday and it was pretty busy. Yet, they couldn’t keep food fresh. Meaning their meats were old to begin with. They also added tip 10% right at the checking when you paid ahead of time. I would not recommend this place.
